Brushes for watercoloring:
It’s best when working at the scale we will be working with in class (and starting out) at the very least have 3 brush sizes, a small round brush, a medium square brush, and a 1” or wider brush. Some watercoloring brushes are very soft and can hold a lot of water such as japanese ink Brushes or specialized watercolor brushes. But from my limited experience acrylic brushes can often work just as well with watercolor and the fact that this class is dealing with multimedia having tools that work with many media would be a good call as far as storage and ease of use. Always remember its about the practice you put in, not the quality of an object, if it works then it works Heres some recommendations

WaterColor Paint Pallettes: Be aware of your environment! If your planning on doing a lot of outdoor plein air painting the ultra expensive porcelain palette, although luxurious, is far from portable. Many of the watercolor kits recommended already have palettes which may be be enough for smaller projects up to 8.5”x12” anything past that i would encourage (not force) a larger pallette. also the common white plastic, porcelain, or styrofoam plate can also be an easy free or cheap option when on a budget, after all arts all about getting creative right!! | |||

not so necessary but it is nice, | WaterColor Water Sources:When using water i simply use 2 plastic cups or reused glass jars. there are metal containers too, its very important to remember to test its waterproofness before you place it deep in your bag or container to hold your supplies.another amazing watersouce can also be found INSIDE YOUR BRUSH which makes painting on the go with a portable settup VERY doable and very light. |
